Basic Tip: “Black Friday” is one of the busiest days of the shopping holiday seasons. To make sure you and your staff are adequately prepared, have a plan that encompasses: Hours of operation, adequate staffing to have complete coverage of full shopping sales floor, important/emergency contact numbers.

Basic Tip: Be on the sales floor as much as possible – anywhere around 80% of your time or more is great.

Advanced Tip: “Manager on Duty” should be very aware of not only where all associates are but where each customer is as well. The manager on duty should be directing their associates to aid in the need of their customers and be very noticeable on the floor to both associates/customers.

Basic Tip: Assign zones for staff coverage so that floor personnel do not leave vulnerable areas unattended.

Advanced Tip: Create a map of the sales floor, as detailed as possible, and ensure all areas are covered by employees and have “Manager on Duty” consistently walk the whole floor for added coverage.
