Hurricane Irma Response Panel
With the impacts of Hurricane Irma still fresh on our minds, join us at the 2017 Fall Retail Summit for an important panel discussion Wednesday, November 15, at 9am, about the response of Florida’s retail industry featuring Wes Maul, the new Interim Executive Director of Florida’s Division of Emergency Management. Maul will be joined by representatives from our member retailers and other organizations involved in the preparation and recovery efforts for natural disasters, including Billy Sasser (invited) with Homeland Security and Neil Kutchera, Port Everglades’ Assistant Port Director. In addition to a discussion on how the state responded to the storm, the panel will also discuss:

  • Reentry process for retailers and their employees
  • Fuel supply – what worked and what didn’t
  • Increasing communication among all partners
  • How to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of future response efforts
  • Results from FRFs recent “Hurricane Irma response” survey
